An assistant coach with the Arcata High School girls basketball team was arrested on suspicion of child molestation and sending harmful materials to seduce a minor, the Arcata Police Department said Friday.
The Arcata Police Department said officers arrested Timothy Ryan Dossey, 26, on Thursday after school officials contacted the department. Dossey has been the assistant coach for at least two seasons.
?They received an anonymous phone call,? said interim Arcata Police Chief Tom Chapman.
Chapman said the girl in the case recently turned 15 years old. Police said they don't yet know the exact time period involved in the alleged crimes, but they did say it has been at least a month.
Arcata High School officials declined to comment on the arrest or Dossey's status, saying it was a personnel matter. It was unclear how the teenager knew Dossey.
Dossey is also a student at Humboldt State University. According to a press release issued by the university, Dossey is a senior majoring in liberal studies elementary education.
?In addition to criminal charges, Dossey faces the possibility of student disciplinary action at HSU,? the release states.
Dossey lists on his Facebook page, a social networking site, that he is also a boys soccer coach at the high school.

hoo!!!?Dossey graduated from Arcata High School in 2002, also according to his Facebook page.
Dossey's bail is set at $75,000.
