ALEXANDRIA, Va.?In honor of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the advocacy group Fight Colorectal Cancer is launching a Twibbon campaign. The campaign is in partnership with My Colon Cancer Coach, and the goal is to unite survivors, loved ones and advocates with a common symbol of support.
A Twibbon is a small image that overlays the corner of a Twitter or Facebook profile image. This particular Twibbon will call attention to colorectal cancer awareness.
By putting a blue start Twibbon on your Facebook and Twitter photos, the participant will:
? raise awareness about the second-leading cancer killer in the United States,
? encourage dialogue about legislation to promote prevention, screening and treatment of colorectal cancer and
? join the movement for change with like-minded supporters and advocates.
The organizers have the following message: "Through March and beyond, you can join this online community by adding the Twibbon here or sharing the efforts with your readers. We would be thrilled to have your support as we head to the Hill for the Call on Congress March 5-7. Please let us know if you decide to share this with your readers, or if you take part in the support by donning a Twibbon! Thank you!"
